Introduction.
Growing up an Army brat and a graduate of North Georgia College, a Senior Military College, formulated in me a deep sense of patriotism and a desire to serve my country. Inspired by my family's long-standing tradition of military service, I enlisted in the U.S. Army in September of 1994 and was later commissioned as a Signal Officer in December of 1996.
I dedicated 23 years of my life to the United States Army, and throughout my service, I loved being a leader and Soldier. Mostly I loved the idea of selfless service to the best Soldiers in the world. My journey is one of sacrifice, love, and compassion, not only for my own family but also for veterans and their families worldwide.
Early Life and Military Career.
Growing up in Augusta I loved playing sports; if you could throw it, kick it, shoot it, hit it, or punch it, I was all in. I grew up the youngest of five children and have two brothers and two sisters who are just as competitive as I am and growing up believed that second place was first place loser. I hated losing more than I liked winning if some of you can relate to that one. I still enjoy playing and coaching sports, especially with/for my children, but as age has caught up with me golf, racquetball, hunting, and fishing have quickly turned into my “GoTo” activities (and required a lot less Motrin 800). I was blessed that eight of my twenty-three years were spent leading Soldiers at Fort Gordon, which was incredibly unique for a military officer to have served so many years “Back Home”. My children were extremely fortunate to grow up for most of their early childhood around family. My experiences as a Platoon Leader (TANGO Bunker), XO (E-369), Company Commander (A-447), Quick Reaction Force Commander (Post 911), Secretary for the General Staff, (Signal Center of Excellence), G3 Training and Exercises (TREX) (2ID), ARCIC Liaison Officer, in AFG (1ID/1stCAV), Combat Analyst (TRAC), Knowledge Management Officer, (ARCIC), OIC of the Cyber Battle Lab, Futures Experimentation Branch, Battle Lab Collaborative Simulation Environment, and Modeling & Simulation were all extremely rewarding. My experiences played a crucial role in my motivation to start my own company after I retired focusing on taking care of Soldiers.
Family Life.
Throughout my military career, my wife Terese has been my rock. Anyone who knows her or meets her knows I married way up. Together, we have been happily married for 25 years, showing unwavering support for each other throughout the joys and challenges of military life. We are blessed with seven children, whose upbringing was a testament to their mother😊. God is so Good “All the Time!!”
Founding Veteran Consulting LLC.
After my retirement from the Army, I had a clear vision of what I wanted to do next - to give back to the veterans and their families who had sacrificed so much for our nation. I founded Veteran Consulting LLC, a company dedicated to providing vital services to veterans across the CSRA area. We have over 100,000 Veterans and their families in the local CSRA, so plenty of opportunities to excel.
Conclusion.
I want to have a profound impact on as many Veterans as possible. Passing on my legacy sealed in God, Family, and service to our Great Nation one veteran at a time.
